Show Review: The Hangmen at the Casbah 4/12/24

The legendary Hangmen played the Casbah on 4/12/24. They were a part of the Hollywood scene in the late-80’s and were even signed to Geffen, but got lost in the shuffle when Guns & Roses exploded in 1988. I’m sure the drugs didn’t help either. But band leader Bryan Small has been sober for decades now and has lived to continue to tell his tales.

The Hangmen played an excellent set of old school sleazy Hollywood rock. I loved every second of it. Got a good workout on my back dodging the guitars every time they came up to the side of the stage to ROCK. I was that close. Bryan Small is the epitome of cool to me. Even cooler than Keith Richards. He’s got that same confidence and swagger. But even cooler.

It’s been a crazy tour for them so far. The Oxys from Texas were supposed to open up the show, but two days earlier, they got in a really bad accident and had to pull out of the tour. Bryan urged everyone to go out and buy some of their merch to help them out. Nice to see him being so supportive. We all have to be for our fellow rockers.

Eddie Spaghetti from the Supersuckers also happened to be in the house! He got up to do a little percussion and singing with them for a couple songs.
