The Len Price 3 came from the UK and headlined a show at Deep Cuts in Medford, MA. Deep Cuts is a pretty cool place. It’s a concert venue, a brewery, a restaurant, there’s a merch area, a record store area, and a pinball machine area! Basically everything you need is right there. And on Friday March 20, they had the Len Price 3 and Muck & The Mires play. You can see pictures of the Selectmen and Chelsea Curve, who also played on the bill, on the Facebook page.
The Len Price 3 have a long history with Boston, playing one of their first shows in the States here 20 years ago. The promotor of that show introduced them as saying they were the Who crossed with the Jam and that’s very accurate. But I hate to compare them to such older bands, because that makes them sound old and dated. No, The Len Price 3 are nothing like that. They’re new and fresh (yeah, even though they’ve been around 20 years) playing super high powered, energetic rock in the style of the Who and the Jam. They played quite a long time tonight, over their allotted time but the crowd wouldn’t have it any other way, ending their set with a few of their more punkish numbers.
I first got into them via the Little Steven’s Underground Garage Christmas A Go-Go album. “It’s Christmas Time Ebenezer” is one of the highlights of the album. The Len Price 3 have a long history with Little Steven and his record Wicked Cool Record label too. And that’s good enough for me and should be good enough for you too. They got a new excellent album out on Wicked Cool Records called “Misty Medway Magick” which is recommended and available on Amazon and Spotify and your cool record store.
Here’s some pictures from the show:
