Show Review: The Bronx at the Belly Up Tavern Dec 14th

The Bronx did a round of two nights at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, with the first night as the Bronx, the second as Mariachi El Bronx. Both were labeled as Christmas shows, but I don’t think I heard one Christmas song played. Singer Matt did dress up as Santa for both shows though.

For the Bronx, with the lights, the suit, and all the jumping around he did, he must’ve been pretty hot. And he had the Santa suit on for the whole freakin’ set! He was jumping around so much, that in most of the pictures I was able to capture him in, he was up in the air! Maybe I’ll do a montage of that sometime. Another thing of note was that the Belly Up allowed stage diving and slam dancing tonight, which I’ve never really seen there before. Not that they could’ve really done anything when Matt starts inviting people to come up and dive. And there was a lot of it! Matt even dove into the crowd himself a few times. Great set! Full on blast of punk rock, 2000’s style.
