I’ve always had problems with albums not having enough guitar. That goes for soundboard live tapes too. I’ve found some software that will split out the instruments and I can adjust their levels to my liking. I’ve always wanted to be a record producer (though now that I think about it, probably just a mixer), so for fun, I’ve been taking some of these Van Halen soundboards that have been recently discovered and adjusting them to my liking. Here’s one of the first I’ve done.
Oh, by the way, I’ve been contacted by one of the team members who liberated these tapes (at a big cost!) and they love what I’ve been doing. One of them told me that they were hoping someone would do what I did. What do you think?
