Takin' A Ride

Celtic Frost and Voivod came to town in June of 1986 to play at the Jackie Robinson YMCA in San Diego. Voivod was supporting their new album Rrroooaaarrr (or Roar).

It was an interesting night. A bunch of hooligans broke into the show and tried to start some crap and eventually succeeded. Snake from Voivod was basically attacked from the audience when some of the guys tried to punch him in the face in the middle of their set. He playfully dodged them and messed with them. I would’ve been pissed, but he took it in good stride. I asked him about it after the show and he just laughed it off.

I was unprepared for this interview, as I was backstage to interview Tom Warrior from Celtic Frost, but I saw Snake standing around and decided to ask him a few questions. Here it is:
