I was just going to post some pictures on my Facebook about MonoDelux. The reason being is because I don’t have much to say. But maybe I actually do. By the way, I’m always posting one off pictures or some other stories on my Takin’ A Ride Facebook if they’re just one-offs or short anecdotes that are not blog-worthy, so you may want to follow that too.
I saw MonoDelux at the House Of Blues on Sept 17, 2025, opening for The “Dead Boys” (which is basically Cheetah Chrome and friends; which wasn’t bad!) and Nico Bones (who was great!). I thought the singer sounded a little familiar. Yeah, he sounded a little like Glenn Danzig, but it was more than that. I couldn’t place it. Then during their set, a friend of mine who turned me onto a band called Doom Kounty Electric Chair, happened to be there and told me he was the singer! So that solved that mystery! Doing some more research online, I found out the bassist was in Circus Of Power, and the drummer was in Dramarama, Gene Loves Jezebel, and Missing Persons! So technically, this is an all-star band!

The sound wasn’t the best at the House Of Blues, but they did sound good enough for me to pick up their album as they were packing up. I almost didn’t because I didn’t want to carry it around all night. But I’m so glad I did! The album is called “Time Wounds All Heels” and was just a solid epic hard hitting loud guitar in your face album. Their website says it the best: “Blazing offerings that summons The Stooges, Cheap Trick, The Damned, The Spiders From Mars & The Mc5…” I’d throw in some Johnny Thunders in there too. It actually came out 2 years ago (where have I been?!?!), but it’s certainly one of the top albums I’ve heard this year.
