Album Review: Mistress 77 “Can’t Stop”

Talk about a band completely nailing it out of the park on their very first release! We’re talking snotty vocals, loud guitars, solid production, an excellent mix, and some damn good catchy songs! I mean some REALLY damn good catchy songs! Imagine if the Dead Boys were based in San Diego and decided to add some creative background vocals with a bunch of “HEY!”s all in the right places. Each song has its own identity, but held together by a solid sound, which is lacking in a lot of other bands these days.

Digging a little further, it should be no surprise that this is such a quality release. It’s basically an all-star band. You got Tony and Scott from Lucy’s Fur Coat on guitar and drums, Brian from No Knife on bass, Jesse from Shake Before Us on another guitar, along with a singer that’s never been in a band before. And they’re just getting together to knock out some loud punk rock (emphasis on ROCK) tunes for fun.

Available on Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple, and other services with vinyl on GarageRock Records coming out this June. Highly recommended!
