Show Review: Hammered Satin at the Casbah Aug 25, 2024

Playing in the middle slot of a fantastic night of rock and roll at the Casbah, were glam superstars Hammered Satin. Soulseller had opened the show and Giuda from Italy were the headliners.

Now when I say “glam”, I’m not talking bands like Cinderella or Motley Crue. I’m talking the ORIGINAL glam, like The Sweet, Mud, and Slade, i.e. what now known as “junkshop glam”. Don Bolles from the Germs is drumming for them now (I could’ve sworn last time I saw them, he was singing). Bolles has been doing the glam revival ever since leaving the Germs with bands like Celebrity Skin. Now he’s doing Hammered Satin and DJing with singer Noah Wallace whenever they can (which they were also doing in between bands at this very gig).

Live they are amazing. Great guitar sound. Great look. Great energy. So happy to be there and rocking, which is all anyone should ever want.

Here’s some video of the night by Luis Torres:

And some pictures I took:

Thanks for the kind words, Ted! And all the cool pics & live video! It’s also really groovy when a reviewer “gets” what we’re doing! Mud, the Sweet & Slade? Couldn’t have picked 3 better things to represent!
