Show Review: Soulseller at the Casbah Aug 25, 2024

Soulseller had the opening slot at the Casbah for the Giuda and Hammered Satin show on Sunday Aug 25th, and they came out with all guns blazing. If you know your action rock, you’d recognize the name “soulseller” as a Hellacopters song. So, it should be no surprise that they actually started out as a Hellacopters tribute band a few years back for a Halloween party. Seeing that they all got along and loved the Hellacopters so much, they decided to continue on as a band writing their own songs in that vein.

I first saw them live at the back bar of the Casbah for the Mistress 77 vinyl release party a couple months back. They were great! Some said the best band of the night! Only in the back bar there’s not much room to move around. This night they were in the main room and took full command of the stage. Lots of room to move around. Sound was great. And the band rocked. High powered, high energy octane rock ‘n roll with some catchiness and solid songwriting. If you’re familiar with the Hellacopters, I’d say they’re more along the “Grande Rock”-era, rather than the rawer, earlier sound. They were so good that even Hammered Satin, who played afterwards commented that they themselves maybe should’ve practiced a little more for this.

They got an album that just came out on Glory Or Death Records that I recommend. You can buy it here.
