Show Review: Pat Todd & The Rankoutsiders at The Sardine in San Pedro 4/10/24

It is estimated that there are 850,000 songwriters in the world. Pat Todd is one of them. If you were to rank these songwriters, you’d have to include Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards, Chuck Berry, Paul Westerberg, Bob Mould, and maybe even Kurt Cobain at or near the top. But somewhere down the line, certainly in the top 20, you would definitely have to include Pat Todd.

His credentials have already been established with the Lazy Cowgirls, and even more solidified as a solo artist with the Rankoutsiders. And dare I say that Pat Todd & The Rankoutsiders is even better! And keep getting better! Just in the past 6 months, he’s released one full length album with another one coming out in 2 weeks. Going back to 2022, there’s also 5 more singles and a mini-album! Quality songs too! And this just in: another album is two thirds done! I don’t know where these song ideas come from and how he’s not run out of things to sing about, but Pat Todd is not one to waste any time. In addition to all these releases, there’s a European tour coming up in May and an Australian tour being set up for November. I may actually go to Australia to see some of the shows.

I had a great time catching up with Pat Todd at the Sardine in San Pedro this past Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. They played a very short set, blasting through 9 songs of high octane, and even higher quality rock ‘n roll and it was very much worth the drive to get there.

I plan on interviewing Pat for this very blog when he gets back from Europe. This is probably more of a favor to me, than him, but I can’t wait to hear what he has to say and spread his message of rock ‘n roll any way I can.

Here’s a video from the show and some pictures.
